Akaroa Scenic Tour

Akaroa is Christchurch’s most loved day tour destination.  Join us for an exceptional scenic experience of Banks Peninsula, including Lyttelton and Akaroa Harbours, and the historical seaside village of Akaroa.  We travel the scenic route to Akaroa, over the Port Hills, via Sign of the Kiwi, Governors Bay, through Gebbies Pass, alongside Lake Forsyth, through Little River, and along the Akaroa summit road. Scheduled photo stops are made, so don’t forget your camera ! You can then choose how to spend your day in Akaroa.  You can join the Akaroa Harbour cruise to view the majestic scenery and wildlife. Packed with highlights the cruise should feature sightings of the rare, native dolphin - the Hector's Dolphin, as well as seals, penguins and other birdlife. You can swim with the dolphins or join as a spectator.  A 2 hour cruise plus preparation and briefing is offered.  You are provided with wetsuits, masks and snorkel, just bring your swimming costume & towel.  Terms and conditions. You  have the option of enjoying lunch at Bully Hayes Restaurant, overlooking Akaroa Harbour - your choice of main meal, plus tea or coffee. Take a 50 minute harbour tour by jet boat. Climb aboard the 20 seat, Twin V8, 600 Horsepower “PHAT TIME”. Sit back and take in the beauty of the Akaroa harbour as we power towards the heads, stopping at scenic Nikau Palm Gully, Dan Rogers Bluff, and the majestic Cathedral Cave.
