Terms and Conditions

Discovery Travel Ltd is committed to delivering the very best tourism experience.  We are also committed to your personal safety and pleasure.  We therefore reserve the right to cancel or amend tours due to weather and/or road conditions, non availability of suppliers, staff, vehicles, or any circumstance beyond our control.

We will take care of you and your possessions, but will not be held liable for any loss, delay or damage to either.

Availability  Please note that not all tours operate on all days.  If your booking is within 48 hours of departure, we recommend that you inquire about availability before booking online.

Discounts available for groups on request.  

Payment We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and cash as payment.  Prices are in New Zealand Dollars, and include GST (sales tax).

Hotel or Motel Pickup from central Christchurch is available on all tours.  Departures from private addresses can be arranged but if outside the central Christchurch area, may incur an additional fee.

Child Price (13 years and under) is 50% of adult price, when traveling with an adult, unless child price is specified.

Day Tour Cancellations  Tours cancelled within 24 hours of departure, and 'no shows' incur a 100% cancellation fee.  Tours which include the TranzAlpine Train incur a 30% cancellation fee if cancelled more than 24 hours prior to departure, and 100% cancellation fee if cancelled within 24 hours of departure.   All tours paid for by credit card, include a credit card transaction fee.  This fee is non refundable.  We recommend travel insurance, in the event that you are required to cancel. 

Private Charter, Cruise Ship Tour, Concert and Festival Cancellations   Individual cancellation policies apply, and you will be notified of our policies prior to booking.

Single Bookings are available, although a minimum of  4 passengers is required for tours to operate.
