We took a tour with Jim on Saturday the 14th around the
waipara wineries and we felt compelled to write and tell you what a gem he
is. We were the only two on the tour that day and thought maybe that
would be strange, but it was like Jim was a very knowledgable friend
showing us around rather than simply a tour guide. The lunch was
delicious, the tour itself was wonderful, but mostly we enjoyed his
company and will definately ask for him again next time we are in
Christchurch. Thank you for a memorable, enjoyable day. Rachel and
Rose. |

Dear Sir,
We would like to tell you how
much we enjoyed our day at Akaroa with Trevor. He picked us up at the
hotel promptly, and encouraged, informed (historically and geographically)
and supported us all the way.The entire journey to Ackaroa was a delight,
skirting Littleton harbour, and visiting Little River for a
short break. The cheese factory at Barrys Bay had some delicious cheese
which we enjoyed in our hotel room for the next few days. We
appreciated stopping at several scenic highlights along the way
for photographic opportunities.
We chose the opportunity to
spend time in Akaroa which is a place of rare beauty and fascination. The
foreshore is adequate reason to visit but the delightful buildings and
town are a source of continuing joy and wonder. For us, there were
many places of interest to visit, however, there were still places we
would like to have seen. The Glass Blowers display was
both superb and productive as we have a couple of very fine
mementos of our visit.
In all a great day, and one we
will remember all our days.
Yours with our very best
wishes
Joyce and Roy.

Hi Jo & John...I'm still travelling and not
home in Hervey Bay until 7th April. Thought I had sent a short note
of thanks to you for a wonderful day. Not easy grabbing time on
friends and family computers. I'll contact you with more detail in
April...meantime be assured everyone had a wonderful day and commented it
was more than likely superior to Arthur's Pass (even with good weather!).
Akaroa was certainly the right decision considering the weather and
I'll be recommending your tours on Cruise Critic! "Little John" was
wonderful....so professional and Beau (Bo?) such a careful driver. I
want to contact the "no show" passengers - 2 from my group and 2 from
California as they should still have to pay. However, guess there is not
much chance of that!? Kind regards, Bev

We just got home last night from our
trip, and really enjoyed our tour with Trevor. That was a wonderful
day. The Waipara Valley is just beautiful. We live quite
close to the Napa Valley in California, so it was wonderful seeing your
beautiful wine region. Thank you for a terrific tour. Your
country is fantastic, and we can't wait to visit again.

Hi
This is just a quick note to tell you guys that
we did the Wine Tour at Waipara with Jim on Saturday 2nd August. And he is
tops! The whole deal was great and we absolutly loved it and Jim was
the icing on the cake. He's a treasure! Thank you for the most
wonderful day out - it more then made up for our being unable to attend
Riccarton Racing and the reason for our South Island Visit. Thank you

Hi Jo and John,
William was wonderful
and we really enjoyed our day with him. Christchurch was a
delight. The city is beautiful and the day went so
quickly. We all wished we had more time time there. As I run
into more people heading your way, you can be sure, I will get them
together with you.

Jo and John,
We had a wonderful day. Our driver, another John, I believe, was very
good and informative. We were all very happy with your service and the
drive was very scenic.
Thanks again,

Hi Jo - my wife and I took the Waipara Valley wine tour with Trevor on
the 3rd. Just wanted to say thanks for a wonderful experience. Trevor was
a great host, and he obviously has excellent relationships with the
vineyards that we visited. I will be certain to recommend your operation
to others who are interested in wine touring.
Thanks very much!

Hi -
Shannon & I took one of your tour about 2 weeks ago, probably on
Friday, November 25.
Our tour guide was John, but I neglected to get his last name. We
learned that he retired from Air NZ and was in the Royal Marines. We
swapped stories, as I had been in the US Marine Corps. John was a great
host, so many thanks for that. Please pass our thanks again to him and
send any contact info for him, if he is agreeable.
Cheers from Burbank!

Hi there! Just wanted to let you know that I have passed the
invoice on for payment and to say thank you for a really lovely
afternoon. It was very well run and everyone was impressed (and
relaxed!). From my point of view - it was great to know that someone
else was in control so that I could enjoy myself as well. The
twisted hop was a great place to end up by the way ...apparently we
were their first ever bus, so there you go!
Thanks very much!
Kind regards

Hi Jo,
Just a quick e-mail to thank you and
your team for a really enjoyable day on our wine tasting tour. We took
your tour on 23.6.05 from Terrace Downs Golf Resort.
We`d like you to pass on a really
big thank you to our guide, Kath. She was superb and really helped make
our day. We all thoroughly enjoyed our trip to NZ and it was just a shame
our rugby team couldn`t put up a better fight!!!
Once again, many thanks, and look
forward to using your company again in years to come.

Hi Jo - welcome back from holiday -
hope you had a lovely time...
I just wanted to thank you very much
for the wonderful day we had on the 19 Feb doing the Waipara Wine
Tour I organised with you. We all certainly enjoyed
our day, and Sefton - he was just marvellous to say the least.
We will do it again sometime BUT we will request we have Sefton as our
driver - he's brilliant!
Everything went according to plan
and we even called at Prenzel - Sefton's suggestion. The timetable
we planned was very good and Torlese was the best. Just goes
to show that the smaller privately owned can be better than the
bigger commercial vineyards.
Many thanks

Dear Sally,
We are sorry that we can't remember your last name, but we definitely
remember you because you gave us such a good tour on that miserably rainy
day. We were the married couple who sat in the second row (You picked us
up on Worcester Street when we were staying at The Worcester House.
Another memorable thing about that trip was that the very tired little
Japanese girl kept banging her head periodically on the window when the
van went around curves. I hope that you remember that day and us.
We really thought that you were a good tour guide. We stopped at the
French Farm winery for lunch. It was sunny but quite cold so we moved one
of the table almost inside and it really helped.
You gave us some ideas for when we reached the west coast at Greymouth
at the end of the TranzAlpine train ride. Just thought that you might be
interested to know that we went to Blackball for lunch at the Formerly
Blackball Hilton. The place was teeming with very senior citizens - every
other one had a cane or a walker. It was actually a riot. We ended up
sitting at the bar and ordering our lunch. It was a kick! Afterwards,
they
invited us to go upstairs to look at their hotel accommodations -
really
tacky but entertaining. No thanks.
You also told us about "white bait patties" which I saw on a menu in
Franz Joseph a few days later and ordered them. They were delicious with a
really tasty sauce and I am glad that I had them.
In Blackball, we also visited the salami factory and bought a small
package of plastic-sealed sliceds of salami. We didn't open it until we
got back home but it was still mighty good.
I also think that you were the one who told us about the Deniston
Incline.
We tried to take a train ride up there, but the weather was too bad and
it was cancelled. So, we drove up there and read some of the historic
markers and got the idea of the old mine. We also went to the museum in
Westport.
All and all, you helped make our visit to New Zealand very enjoyable
and we thank you for that .
You were an excellent driver on those curvy and steep roads. Best of
luck to you. We hope that our paths will cross again.
Your American Friends,
Mary and Gary Nordquist |
