ARTHURS PASS TOUR

Join us on an unequalled scenic experience, travelling deep into New Zealand's mighty Southern Alps, to the alpine village of Arthur's Pass, which is about 2 hours drive from Christchurch.  After picking you up from your Christchurch accommodation, we transfer you to the Christchurch train station to board the TranzAlpine Train for your journey to Arthurs Pass. The TranzAlpine Train is rated as one of the top 10 train journeys in the world.  Enroute to Arthur's Pass you can view the alpine scenery through panoramic windows.  We meet you at the Arthur's Pass train station, then continue by road up to the Pass itself. We then drive down to the 440 metre long Otira Viaduct - one of the most notable environmental engineering achievements in New Zealand, and then down through the rugged Otira Gorge, just reaching the West Coast region.  Back in Arthur's Pass village, we have lunch at the Arthur's Pass Cafe.  You have time to explore the village on foot.  Leaving Arthur's Pass, we drive through the high alpine Porters Pass, back to Springfield, for an exhilarating 20 minute jet boating trip through the Waimakariri River Gorge (optional), followed by a farm visit (optional) where you will see sheep shearing, a sheep dog demonstration, before we return you to your Christchurch accommodation.
